Country: France
Produced only in exceptional years, the 38-40 is the Maison's Cuvée de Prestige, made with grapes from a selection of old vines over 30 years old from the Grand Cru of Avize and Oger.
It represents the uniqueness of the Maison, which wanted to distinguish the bottle with a label originally decorated in metal to represent its own house number on Avenue de Champagne 38-40 in Epernay.
A bottle that expresses itself in all its refinement right from the opening.
Bright golden yellow wine, very fine bubble with very persistent chains and mousses: it reaches the palate with an elegant creaminess and finesse impact.
Great structure and very long persistence. Excellent evolutionary potential.
A wine of great elegance and refinement, to be enjoyed even alone in the so-called "to remember" moments.
Varietal: 100% Chardonnay
Aroma: The nose is complex, next to notes of ripe yellow fruit (peach, apricot), accompanied by hints of vanilla, honey and lightly toasted almond, left by the light passage in barrique.
Palate: A great balance between acidity and minerality makes it elegant and very pleasant, especially when entering the mouth which is full, enveloping, silky and velvety.
Pairings: Ideal for accompanying both fish and white meat dishes.
