2015 was an excellent vintage. The start of the season was cool and windy pre-flowering but followed by warm weather with no significant frost events. During the ripening period, they had long, dry, hot spells. Growing degree days were good over the season. Yields were slightly lower than average. The resulting grapes had good ripeness and flavor.
Varietal: Chardonnay
Aroma: It has an elegant bouquet with ripe stone fruit and straw together with hints of nuttiness and toast.
Palate: A full flavored wine with rich stone fruit flavors of peach and nectarine, cashew nut, toast, and hints of citrus. It has a buttery texture; a long finish and a full body.
Bottle Closure: Cork Â
Harvest:Â Hand harvested on 27th March 2015
Vinification: The whole bunch is pressed, and the barrel is fermented with 100% malolactic fermentation.
Alcohol: 14%
Reviews:Â
>> "The youthful 2015 vintage (4.5****) is from vines planted in Mere Road in 1992. Hand-picked and fermented and matured for a year in French oak casks (two-thirds new), it is pale yellow, with a slightly buttery bouquet. Mouthfilling and creamy, it has concentrated, ripe stone-fruit flavours, seasoned with toasty oak, in a traditional regional style, well worth cellaring; open mid-2017+."
-Michael Cooper-
>> "Classy chardonnay with impressive power that's delivered with consummate subtlety. A creamy textured wine oyster shell, mineral, grapefruit, and white peach together with an attractive bran biscuit and brioche character. Sophisticated chardonnay with a lingering finish."
