Ribera del Duero, Spain
Vina Pedrosa is one of the most prestigeous wineries in Spain. The vines are over 60 years old. The cask is being aged for 26 months in oak barrels.
This is “the Family wine”. Its supreme quality is its highest exponent. It's a very wide wine, voluptuous and well balanced. It has ripe tannins which is ample and firm. The “magic of the Terroir” and outstanding vinification is worthy of praise for the difficulty in making it entailed and places this wine at the summit.
Varietal: Tempranillo
Aroma: It has very intense and concentrated aromas with outstanding notes of ripe fruit and an elegant touch of wood. Spices, vanilla and notes of tobacco blend into a complex symphony.
Palate: It is lively with marked nerve and very fine tannins. It is beautifully structured, powerful and very balanced. It has noticeable persistence.
Bottle Closure: Cork
Standard Drinks: 8.6
Suggested Cellaring: 15 Years
Serving temperature: 18°C
Alcohol: 14.5%
Reviews:
>> 99 Points - Gourmets Wine Guide 2016
>> 97 Points - Selection Guide Repsol 2016
>> “The wine, in a dream vintage like 2010, matured in oak barrels for 26 months, yet, the nose is not excessively oaky and is very spicy with nice fruit integration; it’s still showing very young and only starting to develop hints of tertiary, more complex aromas. The palate is silky with very refined tannins, great balance and length.”
